Early Morning Sights

To some people, waking up on Monday means that evil has come once again. They are heading back to work or maybe school. For some who may work the weekends waking up early on Monday might mean a nice leisurely day to have a cup of coffee and a bagel. Maybe go for a stroll. In Tahoe waking up any early morning, depending on the time of year could mean a nice early kayak trip on a smooth lake, or perhaps getting the first couple of runs on fresh snow. Maybe even just going for a gentle walk and seeing some birds.

In New York city waking up on Monday means that if you are a car owner you're double checking your brain about where you parked your car last night because today is an alternate side of the street parking day.

And if you are like Mark and I who woke up kinda early but don't have a job to get to (please God, get us jobs) then today means that you get to watch a nice shiny Camry get towed in amazingly efficient time by the NYPD. What probably makes it even funnier is that the parking restriction begins at 9am and this car was being towed away at precisely 9:12am. Talk about being on stand-by. (Tow truck driver was a latina with nicely done hair and probably had nails but her hands were protected by bad-ass gloves)

That sucks for someone but I have to admit for me, Mark, Vinnie the Parrot who sits by the window, the Parks department worker who was sweeping the sidewalk, and the guy walking his dog, it's something to talk about at dinner tonight.
